The Henry Forman Atkinson Dental Museum

The Henry Forman Atkinson Dental Museum documents the history of dentistry and dental education in Victoria. It includes historic records and archival material, as well as dental surgery, workroom and laboratory equipment dating from the 18th century to the present day.

7.1 Collection Management – Catalogue project

This project offers the opportunity to become involved in cataloguing items recently gifted to Henry Forman Atkinson Dental Museum. The project work will involve the completion of cataloguing worksheets for the new acquisitions and once fully catalogued, these new records will be added to the HFA Museum’s electronic database, Vernon. The project contributes to the accessibility, long-term preservation, storage and appreciation of the collection.

7.2 Collection Management – Cataloguing project, Australian Dental Association Collection

This project offers the opportunity for two students working in partnership to catalogue the items in Australian Dental Association Collection which has recently been gifted to Henry Forman Atkinson Dental Museum. The project work will involve initially cataloguing the materials via a spreadsheet and these new records will subsequently be added to the HFA Museum’s electronic database, Vernon. The project contributes to the accessibility, long-term preservation, storage and appreciation of the collection.
