VCA Film and Television Digital Archive Project receives funding

The VCA School of Film and Television Archive’s Digital Archive Project has received significance funding from The University of Melbourne’s latest round of Student Services Amenities Funding grants. The Digital Archive Project aims to organise, curate and showcase the many quality student films made at VCA over the years.

The project is about unlocking the Archive for the first time through digitisation to create new intersections between expert knowledge, curatorial practice and student-generated content. As a result, unprecedented online access will be granted to the graduate student film works of Australia’s oldest film school (the Archive contains more than 1,700 short films dating back to 1967). The project will allow new audiences to discover the rich content of the Archive and create teaching, learning and research opportunities.
